Plaza Comunitaria
Plaza Comunitarias are programs designed to target youth and adults outside of Mexico, especially those of Mexican origin in the US, 15 years of age or older, who need to start or conclude their basic education (elementary and junior high school).
The Mexican National Institute for Adult Education (INEA) offers basic education to youth and adults older than 15 years of age that were not able to complete their education through the Mexican school system. The Institute’s goal is to increase the attention toward this population by offering quality education for life and work that enriches the value associated with an elementary or junior high school certificate. All this is offered through the Plaza Comunitaria programs.
The Plazas Comunitarias are educational locations open to the community where adults and youth, depending on their interests and flexibility, can attend to learn to read and write, complete their elementary and/or junior high school certificates, and/or take courses to learn about life skills and work. All this is accomplished while taking advantage of the information in our technologies and communication.
